Everything up to this point has been dress rehearsal for this event! Crowley’s Ridge State Park is the setting for the Walcott Trail Run, the 7th event in the Crowley’s Ridge Athletic Club Event Series. The course is approximately 4 miles of true trails and park roads, but is no “walk in the park!” (Well, unless of course, you happen to actually walk). While the trails are clean, they are, after all, trails, so participants will need to watch for uneven ground, roots, rocks, trees, stobs, and anything else one might generally find in the woods of Arkansas. (The hazards will not be painted or otherwise highlighted.) There will be two water stations on the course, one at approximately mile 1.5 and the other at approximately mile 2.7. Course support will be supplied to route the runners in the right direction. The park is beautiful and the course challenging, so register now and make plans to attend. Oh, and feel free to picnic on the grounds of the park afterward!
Standard division awards will be presented and performance points will be awarded to CRAC members. Timing will be RFID based by Agee Race Timing. A group is now forming to pre-run the course. Contact Curtis Hitt for more information, a map of the course or with other questions at (870) 236.4488 or cwhitt@paragould.net.
